Government Shutdown
This seems to be the talk at every gathering, every dinner table, and everywhere else these days. In my opinion, it's despicable, not to mention unprofessional and childish.
Shutting down the government because a group doesn't like a program is just like taking your ball and going home because you don't like the rules.
And if non-essential workers are furloughed, why is Congress still there? Oh....that's right. It's non-essential workers---not non-productive workers.
Now here are some of the departments and agencies that are considered NON-ESSENTIAL:
CDC--Center for Disease Control. Nope. I guess that's not important. They only identify diseases and their sources, which could stop an epidemic. It's too bad they can't stop the epidemic of Congressional Stupidity.
Labor Department--Well, I guess if nobody is working, this department isn't needed.
EPA--Environmental Protection Agency. Oh well hell, we don't need this. Filthy air and filthy water is good for us. Right? I mean, it makes us immune to all the impure, polluted, contaminated, tainted, foul, repulsive, intolerable, and insufferable politicians in Washington.
FDA--Food and Drug Administration. Don't need it. Who needs safety-inspected meat? And bugs in canned goods is extra protein. Right? Who cares what we're eating, as long as we're eating? Right?
But you know what just fries me? Sends my blood to the boiling point? CONGRESS WILL STILL GET PAID!!!!!!!!!! WHAT? WHAT THE HELL?
When an institution or business shuts down NOBODY GETS PAID!!
CONGRESS SHOULD NOT GET PAID!!!!! THEY ARE RIPPING US OFF!!! NO WORK--NO PAY!!! THAT'S HOW IT WORKS!!!
THIS IS WHAT I THINK.

Carole, this is all subterfuge to scare the public into accepting Obamacare, which by the way, only 1% have signed up for. 83% of the government is operating, and congress is exempt from the Affordable Care Act. The sooner people understand that the entire government is a shell game, the sooner we can change it to a TRUE representative republic.

ReplyDeleteAfter we cut their pay ... Lets fire them in the next election ... send a message! 95% of the hold up is on the Republican end ... so give them a nudge and let them know what you think!
