Days Congress Worked in 2015

DOES THIS MAKE ANYONE ELSE ANGRY?

IN THE YEAR 2015:

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES                                    SENATE

Worked 154 days                                                                Worked 164 days.

AVERAGE AMERICAN WORKED 239 DAYS.

AVERAGE SALARY FOR CONGRESS: $140,000
AVERAGE SALARY FOR THE AMERICAN WORKERS: $51,000

These are averages.

Some Congressional figures make more and some make less.
And we all are aware that many, many people make a lot less than $51,000, and a lot make more than that. But for this purpose, we'll go with these figures.

Based on the 239 work days, (holidays and 2 weeks vacation not included), the AVERAGE AMERICAN earns $213.39 a workday before taxes. Sick days and paid days off aren't averaged in. This is based on actual earned work days.

Based on the 239 work days, a CONGRESSMAN earns $585.77 a workday before taxes.

BUT!!!!

Based on actual days worked.....

A Member of the House of Representatives  earns $909.09 a workday before taxes.
A member of the Senate earns $853.66 a workday before taxes.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE???

Can you imagine the money they can sock away after they enjoy the extravagant lifestyles, of which much is pushed onto expense accounts? They could put a lot away for retirement. BUT WAIT! Why would they? THEY GET TO RETIRE AT SIX FIGURE INCOMES! PAID FOR BY THOSE OF US WHO PAY OUR INCOME TAXES ON OUR AVERAGE $51,000 SALARIES!

Along with paying out taxes, we get to put money away for our own retirements.  And we can live on Social Security! Average Social Security paid out is $1180.80 monthly, or $14,169.60 yearly.

The highest benefit amount that anyone can get is $2366 monthly, or $28,312 yearly. But that amount is based on a person making $106,800 every year from the age of 21.
(These figures are based on the year 2011. There hasn't been much change since then.)

Now, here is the not-so-funny part: OUR CONGRESSMEN ARE CONSTANTLY TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO TAKE AWAY OUR SOCIAL SECURITY.

DOES THIS ANGER ANYONE ELSE? Every worker in America pays into Social Security. Every worker in America works as hard as he/she can, every day, every week, every month, every year, while the people whose salaries we pay, work a lot less for a lot more. And do not pay into Social Security. AND while we are paying their salaries, they take it upon themselves to make decisions based on what THEY WANT, NOT what we want.

SO WHO IS ACTUALLY GETTING THE HANDOUTS IN THE COUNTRY?
THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE!!

and that's what I think.................
