DAYS WORKED IN CONGRESS FOR 2014

This year, our elected officials, once again, outdid themselves in lack of performance.

For the year 2014.....

The HOUSE was in session 135 days. 
The SENATE  was in session 136 days. 

Now the AVERAGE AMERICAN WORKER worked approximately 242 days in 2014. 

Based on a 5-day workweek, subtracting the holidays and allowing for a 2-week vacation, this is about the average. 

The salary for each lawmaker is $174,000 per year...
+...healthcare...
+ expenses...
+ an allowance of $944,671 so they can hire "EXTRA HELP."

 (Speaker of the House makes $223,000; Pres. Pro Temp, majority and minority leaders--$193,400)

Based on the average salary, and the hours worked....

WE ARE PAYING THESE PEOPLE $1288.89 A DAY!

MR.MS. AVERAGE AMERICAN earns an average of $51,000 a year. 
(Many salaries are below that, and many are below poverty level. 
It's the 6-figure incomes that make the average that high.)

Broken down on a 40-hr week, it's approximately $210.74 a day. 

 IS ANYONE GETTING NAUSEOUS YET? REMEMBER THIS: THEIR SALARIES COME OUT OF YOUR PAYCHECKS.  SO WHILE YOU STRUGGLE TO KEEP YOUR CHILDREN IN SHOES, AND KEEP FOOD ON THE TABLE, THESE PEOPLE ARE TAKING THEIR SALARIES AND DOING NOTHING FOR THEM!!

 So the AVERAGE AMERICAN WORKER works approximately 107 days a year more than the elected officials, and makes approximately $123,000 less a year.

SICK YET?

 So maybe they accomplished a lot more in less time? Answer: NO.

How much time was spent talking about impeachment of the President? 
How much time was spent trying to destroy the Affordable Care Act? 
How much time was spent worrying about how not to pass an Immigration Reform Bill? 
How much time was spent blocking Gay Marriages? 
How much time was spent trying to prevent stronger Gun Laws?
How much time was spent fighting to prevent abortions and birth control?
How much time was spent criticizing President Obama?
How much time was spent denying Global Warming?

It seems that most of the time was spent on NEGATIVITY. It also appears that everything that is important TO THE PEOPLE are the very things our illustrious lawmakers don't want to consider. 

 IF YOU ARE NOT SICK AND DISGUSTED YET, I GUESS YOU JUST MAY DESERVE WHAT YOU ARE GETTING.

Government Shutdown

This seems to be the talk at every gathering, every dinner table, and everywhere else these days. In my opinion, it's despicable, not to mention unprofessional and childish. Shutting down the government because a group doesn't like a program is just like taking your ball and going home because you don't  like the rules. And if non-essential workers are furloughed, why is Congress still there? Oh....that's right. It's non-essential workers---not non-productive workers. Now here are some of the departments and agencies that are considered NON-ESSENTIAL: CDC--Center for Disease Control . Nope. I guess that's not important. They only identify diseases and their sources, which could stop an epidemic. It's too bad they can't stop the epidemic of Congressional Stupidity. What is Happening?

What happened to America? Where did the United States go?  Tearing families apart, throwing crying, screaming children into cage-like facilities?  MY GOD, PEOPLE! WHY ARE WE LETTING THIS HAPPEN? ICE and now the Border Patrol behaving like the Nazi enforcers in Hitler's Germany! SO WRONG! Joe Kennedy III said it correctly: HUMANITY has nothing to do with a green card, a visa, or citizenship.  It has to do with the treatment of people.  AND THERE IS NO HUMANITY IN THIS BEHAVIOR!!  OH. MY. GOD!! Children screaming and crying as they are being yanked away from their parents is HORRIFIC!!!
